Day 20 - March 5, 2007 Monday

Today Terry had the nurse call Lynn at 5:45. He "whispered" (trach) to her that he wanted her there right away. He wanted to get out of the hospital ASAP and go home. He thought a lawyer would be able to help him do this. He wanted Michael (son) there because Michael knew a lawyer. Terry's lung surgery was scheduled for early in the day. They took him away for surgery at 9:30. It would last for 2-3 hours. The surgery was to drain excess fluid from his chest cavity, scrap some scar tissue off the lungs, and put in some drainage tubes. During the surgery they noticed he had some drainage around the incision in his tailbone. They ended up putting a drainage tube there too. Terry was pretty much out of it after the surgery for the rest of the day.
