Day 14 - February 27, 2007 Tuesday

Terry is having a minor surgery today to clean some of the fluid from his lungs. They will send a scope down his vent tube and vacuum all the stuff out. They are doing this in hopes of taken the vent tube out again. Later on they decide to do a tracheotomy on him because of how raw and ulcerated his tongue was from the tube. The tracheotomy would help his tongue and throat heal and they could still use the ventilator if needed. After the procedure which was done in his ICU room, he slept for the rest of the evening.
