Day 58 - April 12, 2007 Thursday

Terry has two doctors appointments today - one with the infectious disease doctor and the other with the cardiovascular surgeon. Lynn will also tell Greg that they have chosen to go to the Heritage House in New Castle. Lynn's friend Karen (she went with Lynn on the earlier visits)and her husband went to check it out for them. In Karen's opinion, she would rank it in between the Shelbyville place and the Morristown place. Terry likes it because it is a shorter drive for a lot of the family and it is close to the go-cart track in New Castle that Michael (son) runs. Terry went to the infectious disease doctor first. He thought Terry was doing great and discontinued his antibiotic five days early. Yeah! Terry has been on it for about five weeks. There has been some thought that it was contributing to his nausea. We will have to wait and see now. The next stop was the cardiovascular surgeon (he is the one who operated on Terry's lungs). He did some x-rays and looked at the results. He wanted to see how Terry's lungs were doing. He said it definitely looked as if one lung was shorter than the other one, but he wasn't concerned. He also thought Terry looked good. Both doctors released Terry from their care. When they got back to RHI, Greg told them that it was all arranged - Terry would be moving to tomorrow around 1 pm. He will be going to the Heritage House in New Castle. Lynn is beginning to see this as an adventure - this is the next step. She began packing everything up in from his room at RHI, trying to get all of their stuff out there tonight. She left late, taking all she could carry with her. There is not much left to take tomorrow.
