Day 51 - April 5, 2007 Thursday

Lynn woke up in a much better frame of mind. She got to RHI ready to deal with things as needed. She believes God knows the best answer for them and it will be made clear in the proper time frame. The staff took Terry's catheter out this morning. Now everyone hopes he has a smooth transition to normalcy. Partially because of Terry's reaction yesterday and observations from his physical therapists, they started him on an anti-depressant. Unfortunately they gave him too high a dose, and he has been very sleepy today. He slept through most of his morning PT. His speech is slurred. He is basically having a poor morning. By afternoon most of the drug's effects had worn off. The rest of the day was spent trying to gather information on nursing homes - pros of being closer to home, plans for the future, etc. They are looking ahead more - what a big step! Not being concerned about today's pain is a MAJOR accomplishment.
